What each deliverable contains, and the redaction position every published sample follows.
Why this page exists
No estimating service we examined publishes a single real deliverable. You are asked to send confidential drawings and a fee to a firm whose output you have never seen.
The samples that will sit here are redacted real work: the eight tab workbook, a colour coded markup on an issued sheet, a proposal, a shop drawing sheet and a plan review memo, each readable in the browser.
The five deliverables
- The estimating workbook, all eight tabs
- Takeoff breakdown, summary, unit prices, labor and crews, equipment, materials, assumptions and exclusions, and notes. The markup cascade sits in editable cells.
- A colour coded markup drawing
- Measurement markup drawn over the issued sheet with its legend, so every quantity in the workbook maps onto the drawing it came from.
- A proposal
- Inclusions, exclusions, alternates and the schedule of values structure.
- A shop drawing sheet
- Title block practice, the revision table, the schedules, and details cropped from the engineer’s own sheets.
- A plan review memo
- The sheet reconciliation and the findings list from a real reviewed set, with the project removed.
What every published sample has removed
The structure, the method and the quality stay. The client does not.
- Client company name, in the body, the title block, the header, the footer and the file name.
- Project name and street address.
- Owner, architect and engineer names.
- All pricing: unit rates, extended costs, subtotals, markups and totals.
- Contact names, phone numbers and email addresses.
- Sheet and drawing numbers that identify the source set.
- Permit, job and contract numbers, and any date that combined with the region would identify the job.
